Pattern Overview
The Fluffy Cloud Hat is a ribbed beanie with a folded brim. It is knit in 1×1 rib.
The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up with two strands of yarn held together – DK-weight merino wool and mohair. Adding a strand of mohair creates a soft halo and makes the hat cozier and warmer.
The Long-tail tubular cast-on is used for this hat. This cast-on gives a rounded edge that is very stretchy and looks professional. Tubular cast-on takes more time and effort, but if you wish, you can use a standard Long-tail cast-on.
First, you will cast on the required number of stitches and join knitting in the round. Next, you will knit a long tube until you reach your desired length. Then you will work the crown decreases. After that, you will thread a tapestry needle and draw the tail through the remaining stitches.
