Pattern Overview

The Riverbed Scarf features a simple cable rib stitch. The pattern is a 4-row repeat.

The scarf is knit flat from the bottom up with two strands of yarn held together – DK-weight merino wool and lace-weight mohair. Adding a strand of mohair creates a soft halo and makes the scarf cozier and warmer.

The first and last 3 stitches form an i-cord edging, which makes the edges look neat and prevents them from curling.

The bottom and top borders are worked in 2×2 rib stitch.

First, you will cast on the required number of stitches. Next, you will knit the ribbed bottom border, then you will knit the body of the scarf, and finish with the ribbed top border. Lastly, you will bind off the stitches.

This scarf is a great match for the Riverbed Hat or Riverbed Headband.
