Pattern Overview
The Morning Dew headband is a beautiful accessory.
The headband is knitted flat.
The pattern is a 2-row repeat. It features brioche stitch that produces a squishy ribbed fabric.
The first and last 3 stitches form an i-cord edging, that makes the edges look neat and prevents them from curling.
The the cast-on and bind-off edges are seamed together forming a decorative twist in the middle. The seam is hidden by the twist and is not visible.
First, you will cast on the required number of stitches. Next, you will knit a long rectangle until you reach your desired length. Then you will bind off the stitches. After that you will seam the edges together to form the twist.

10 x 10 cm (4x4in) = 21sts x 28rows in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Drops Daisy in the color light grey (mix 04), 1 ball.
Needles
4mm (US 6) knitting needles.
Notions
Tapestry needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch markers (optional).
Pattern notes
Brioche stitch might feel complicated at first, but it is quite simple once you get the hang of it. The pattern is only a two-row repeat and it doesn’t have any purl stitches. First, you will work the set-up row and then you’ll repeat rows 1 and 2.
The first and last 3 stitches are selvage stitches. You might want to place markers to separate them from the main pattern.
Abbreviations
k – knit.
sl – slip stitch as if to purl with yarn in front.
sl1yo – bring the working yarn under the needle to the front of the work, slip the next stitch as if to purl, then bring the yarn over the needle (and over the slipped stitch) to the back, in position to work the following stitch.
brk (brioche knit) – knit next knit stitch together with its corresponding yarn over.
RS – right side.
WS – wrong side.

MORNING DEW HEADBAND KNITTING PATTERN
Headband
Cast on 21 stitches.
Row 1 (Set-up row, RS): k3, *sl1yo, k1* to last 4 sts, sl1yo, sl3.
Row 2 (WS): k3, *brk, sl1yo* before the last 4 sts, sl3.
Row 3 (RS): k3, *sl1yo, brk* to last 4 sts, sl1yo, sl3.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the headband measures 46 (48) 50cm/ 18 (19) 19.5in.
Bind off sts. Cut the yarn, leaving a 30cm (12″) tail for seaming.
At this step, it is best to wet block the finished headband and lay it flat to dry. Then weave in the cast-on tail.
Twist
Lay the headband flat. The right side should be facing you.
Brioche stitch itself is a reversible stitch (it looks the same on the right and wrong side). In this pattern, on the right side it starts and ends with a sl1yo, and on the wrong side it starts and ends with a brk. On the right side the edges (selvedge stitches and the beginning of the brioche stitch) look narrower, than on the wrong side, this is the look I personally prefer. If you like the wider edges of the wrong side more, then at this step the wrong side should be facing you.
Thread the yarn tail onto a tapestry needle. Fold each end of the headband in half, so they form a “V”.
Place one edge into another, making sure the yarn tail is not in between the layers.
Sew through the folds from one end to the other. Go back and forth, making sure you go through all the layers.
Weave in the loose ends. Turn the headband inside out.
